Foreign-Economic Activity

Export development of forest production and services has steady growth dynamics. In 2000 it amounted to USD 28,3 million, in 2006 – USD 89,6 million and increased 3,1 times. Growth rate made 111,8% comparing to 2005. Export of services formed USD 0,7 million or 175% to the level of 2005. Volume of products and services imports amounted to USD 2,9 million. Positive foreign-trade balance made USD 86,7 million.

Pulpwood and carving wood take leading position in the structure of forest export in 2006.

In 2006 enterprises of the system of the Ministry of Forestry exported forest products and services to 25 states of world: 13,6% of forest export accounts for CIS-countries (mainly for Russia – 13,5%) and 86,4% for foreign countries (including Poland - 29%, Latvia 18,8%, Germany 10,6%).
